| In August 1999,
FLOSUL became the first company of Rio Grande do Sul to
receive a certification from FSC -
Forest Stewardship Council -, an international organization
that promotes the good management of natural and planted
forests, attesting the origin of the raw forest materials.
We received the Forest Management and the Exclusive Chain
Custody seals, which mean that our company uses wood proceeding
from forests that are managed in an environmentally correct,
socially fair and economically feasible way.
FLOSUL was evaluated by the SmartWood Program of the Rainforest
Alliance (U.S.A.), represented in Brazil by the Institute
of Forest and Agricultural Management and Certification
(Imaflora). In
2004, our forests were re-certificated by this program.
